Itinerary:

Arrival day: from Lombok airport or another location in Lombok to Sembalun (2–3 hours by car).
We will pick you up on Lombok Island, drop you off in Tetebatu, check you in at the hotel at Avocado Homestay, and if you have any enough time, we will guide you to visit Tetebatu rise field, waterfall and monkey forest. Return to the hotel to meet your guide, where we can provide you with a detailed overview of our trip.

Day one Trek: seven hours' hike from Tetebatu to the crater rim

We shall begin the climb to the crater rim Tetebatu following breakfast at the hotel. Starting from Tetebatu settlement, which lies 750 meters above sea level, we will drive to the Rinjani gate, located 800 meters above sea level. From this gate, which hosts a sizable population of apes and monkeys, we can plainly see the Rinjani mountain or crater rim—our final destination.

We left for a journey following a break; after 15 minutes we will arrive to the meadow. Here, Mount Rinjani on the right side towers tall while Tetebatu village is clearly far behind us. We left Pondok Belanda after one hour and thirty minutes and arrived to Post 2 for lunch and rest.

Lunch and enough breaks will allow us to proceed to Crater Rim Tetebatu; the track is rather steep, thus we will reach Crater Rim Tetebatu after two hours of regular time. Here we erect a tent for rest, dinner, and overnight with the breathtaking view of Rinjani's summit rising above the clouds.
